A Better Hold: Meet the Updated SMARTMED 15 mm Cold Sore Patch
Share
A cold sore patch can provide discreet coverage but only when it stays in place.
Based on customer feedback, SMARTMED has updated its large 15 mm cold sore patch to provide a more secure hold. The improved patch retains the thin, discreet coverage customers expect while offering better adhesion for everyday wear.
What Did SMARTMED Improve?
The previous ultra-thin patch was designed to feel lightweight and flexible on the lip area. However, some customers wanted it to adhere more securely, particularly while talking, eating or going about their day.
We listened.
The updated SMARTMED patch features an improved-hold design created to provide a more secure fit while remaining thin and discreet.
The updated patch includes:
| Improved adhesion for a more secure hold | Large 15 mm coverage |
| Ultra-thin, discreet hydrocolloid construction | An updated formula with lysine, honey, zinc and lemon balm |
| Clear coverage designed to help protect and conceal the affected area |
Why Patch Hold Matters
| The skin around the lips moves frequently throughout the day. Talking, smiling, eating and drinking can make it more challenging for a patch to remain securely in place. |
| Moisture and products such as lip balm, moisturizer, makeup or facial oil may also interfere with adhesion. That is why both patch design and proper application matter. |
| The improved SMARTMED patch is designed to provide better contact with clean, dry skin while maintaining the flexible feel of an ultra-thin patch. |
How to Get the Best Hold
Proper application can make a noticeable difference in how securely your patch stays in place.
| 1. Clean the area | Gently clean the external lip area before applying the patch. |
| 2. Dry the skin completely | Hydrocolloid patches adhere best to clean, completely dry skin. Even a small amount of moisture may reduce adhesion. |
| 3. Avoid applying products underneath | Do not place lip balm, cream, ointment, facial oil or makeup underneath the patch. These products can create a barrier between the hydrocolloid and your skin. |
| 4. Center the patch carefully | Position the 15 mm patch so the area you want to cover is centered underneath it. Avoid repeatedly lifting and repositioning the patch, as this can weaken its hold. |
| 5. Press gently |
After placement, gently press around the patch (especially along the edges to help establish contact with the skin). Always follow the directions included with the product and replace the patch if it becomes loose, damaged or soiled. |
Why Choose a Large 15 mm Patch?
Not every cold sore or lip concern is the same size.
SMARTMED offers different patch sizes because coverage needs can vary. Our large 15 mm patch provides more coverage than a standard smaller patch and may be preferable when you want to cover a broader external lip area.
Despite its larger diameter, the patch is designed to remain ultra-thin and discreet.
Improved Hold and an Updated Formula
The latest version combines two important updates:
| Improved Hold: | Updated Formula: |
| An updated patch design provides better adhesion and a more secure fit than the previous SMARTMED ultra-thin version. | The hydrocolloid patch now includes lysine, honey, zinc and lemon balm. |
These ingredients are incorporated into a thin hydrocolloid patch designed to cover, protect and discreetly conceal the affected external lip area. The patch is not intended to replace medical advice or prescribed treatment.
Is This the Same SMARTMED Patch?
This is the improved version of our large 15 mm ultra-thin cold sore patch.
